Scrapbook gallery added to website
As my new online "scrapbook" gallery icon caption states, "who would have ever thought I would have 'artist memorabilia' to post and share."
Well I do now. The new gallery has been our latest project to tweak my ever expanding website. Inside you'll find newspaper articles, ads, show announcements and event snapshots. We are still going through our memorabilia to add more images and, will continue to update as time progresses.
Click the link above to be directed to the new website gallery.
Thank you for your interest and patronage.
All the best,
Chris

“eco art” by Chris…
Chris produced an eco-friendly piece of art for the Grand River Expedition 2010 Fundraising Party which was held on Friday, May 7, 2010 in Vandercook Lake, MI.
The acrylic – mixed-media piece features beaver wood from the upper Grand River, a found deer antler and recycled and repurposed items in an engaging collage of vibrant color

We've returned to the world of internet...
Hello Friends,
We are finally back after almost 2 weeks offline. I could do quite a bit on my iPhone... but there's nothing like getting your hands back on that keyboard after all of that time.
My word for the day is "warrantee." Since this was a fatal crash (and the 3rd in 1 year) my Dell rep had the mother-board and hard drive replaced. However, all of the purchased & online program downloads I had on my computer were gone when I booted up for the first time. I've spent hours reloading software, downloading programs and waiting for a zillion system updates.
The good news is that we pay for an online backup service. The bad news is that somehow I messed up and omitted backing up the digital photo library of all of Chris' paintings. I've figured out a way to get them back but it's going to take more time. One step at a time... right?!?
It's good to be back!

Snaps from Wabash - Chris' art at Borders and Beyond Art Gallery
Hi Friends,
We received a few snaps from the Borders and Beyond Art Gallery showcasing some of Chris' art on display (scroll down to see images). We can't wait to get back down there in person to see the gallery again. Diane Morris, co-owner of the gallery said in an email to Chris, "Great time to have such vibrant colors in here, everyone is ready for Spring!" It's true, Chris' use of color has always amazed me... I call them "happy colors."
Enough of my babbling... scroll down and see the pictures.
Have a great day!
Mike
P.S. Click the above blog title to see all of the paintings on exhibit at the Wabash, IN gallery.

See what else Chris can do...
Hi Friends,
Chris has been making jewelry since he was a kid... bracelets, necklaces and earrings. I still wear the silver bracelet he made for me in 2000 - I never take it off. "Rumors" salon owner Stacey Fairbanks has been after Chris to make some unique and funky earrings that could be sold at the salon... and he's done just that (see insert). These one-of-a-kind "Chris Blank" originals are reasonably priced at $12 per pair.
You really need to see the merchandise in person to truly appreciate the detail, color and design that make these earrings so unique. "Rumors" is located in the Kibby Cobb Plaza at 2610 Kibby Road, Jackson, MI - 517.789.9061.
Until next time...

A good cause... "For the Love of Laina"
Hi Friends:
Chris has been asked to do a painting for a very special cause. "For the Love of Laina" fundraising events have been coordinated by her friends and family to help raise money for Laina, a 24 year old mother stricken with cancer.
The next event is this weekend (Saturday) at Diamond Jim's Saloon on Warren Avenue in Detroit (see insert). The show will prove to make for an entertaining evening... and for such a good cause.
Future benefits are being planned with the next event date of March 28th at the Redford, MI Moose.
As future benefit details are forwarded to us, we will post that information on this blog as well as Chris' other networking sites.

cblankcanvas.com Gallery Updates...
Hello Friends of Chris Blank,
We sorted through our digital image library today and moved 35+ paintings into the "Once upon a time... now gone" gallery webpage on Chris' site. If you browse through the gallery you will see a very broad range of styles. Even those who know Chris might think that he is strictly an "abstract man." And, although abstract mixed-media/collage is his favorite style, he enjoys painting all genres (CMB-194 "Fire On The Hill" pictured).
We began working on a new gallery webpage for his site titled "Not for Everyone." The title speaks for itself... and will be compiled with some of his more avant-garde work. Look for the "Not for Everyone" gallery coming soon.
Remember that on March 1st we launch the "Borders & Beyond Art Gallery" page. The link may be accessed under the "gallery" toolbar option found at the upper left-hand corner of any page in the "cblankcanvas.com" website.

Borders & Beyond... Update
Hello Friends ~
We made the drive to Wabash, IN on Sunday to deliver Chris' paintings to the Borders & Beyond Art Gallery. Gallery co-owner Diane Morris (and her husband Conrad) took time out of their Valentine's Day to meet us (Chris, Mike, Andrea & Elizabeth) at the AG so we could finally meet in person and make proper introductions. Of course Andrea already met Diane... that's what made this whole thing possible.
The gallery is incredible with very high tin coffered ceilings and tons of wall space. You can tell the wood floors have have been walked on many times... and just might be original to the building, I'm not sure. With A & E's help we delivered a number of paintings and I can't wait to see how they are displayed for the event.
I'm inserting 2 snaps I took that day... I usually always take more than 1 shot and somehow I didn't that day. The first picture is looking into the gallery from the front; and, the 2nd snap is Chris with gallery co-owner Diane Morris (sorry about the closed eyes - see, I should have taken 2).
That's all for now from the "Chris Blank - Acrylic / Mixed-Media Artist" blog headquarters. Have a great day!

Featured Artist 3 Mo. Exhibit - Wabash, IN
I'm pleased to let you know I'll be a featured artist for 3 months (March - May). The exhibit will be held at Borders & Beyond Art Gallery in Wabash, IN. Wabash is a great little city located some 50 miles from Ft. Wayne. Having a wonderful downtown area, Wabash has not been affected by strip malls and large chain operations while keeping its historical character in tact (mom & pop still live here).
Thanks to my sister Andrea, she helped make this event possible. Fortunately for me she needed to frame a piece of my art and took it to Borders & Beyond. When seeing the painting the owners inquired who did it, she said her brother and the rest is history. I would like to take this time to thank the owners, Amy Ford and Diane Morris for the honor to showcase my work in such a great space. A reception will be held sometime this spring (with a date to follow) so you can all come and see what I'm talking about. We will have a new "Borders & Beyond" gallery web page on my website and I invite you to check it out effective March 1st.
Thank you for your support, interest and patronage...
